Hi folks,

I've noticed a starting problem lately with my 03 Sportsman 600. When I turn the key, the engine turns over for a second, then it sort of 'pauses' for another second, then it starts up and runs fine from there. Does this sound like a need for a new battery? starter? something else?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

Keefer, if that's the original battery in your 600 it may be time for a new one. Check the acid level, clean-up the battery contacts and give it a charge. That should make a difference and if the pause comes back it's time for a new battery.

 

Yup it is the original battery. I'll do as you said and see it that makes a difference.
