Default 97 magnum 425 2x4 problem!!

hey everyone!

just got a question regarding my polaris magnum 425 2x4, i was out on the trail today and everything was runnin good untill i shut it off and when i restarted it it was idoling really high and it would not go into gear for nothing, but when i shut it off it goes into gear normal and i can start out in gear but can not shift into a different gear unless i shut it off first, and when it was running high it would not idol it would start to crawl and before it didn't, could i just adjust the carbs maybe or do you guys think it could be something more??
any feedback would be much appreciated thank you!!

id say adjust the idle and if that works then great. if not maybe you have some junk in your carb causin it to act wierd, in that case clean it

get it to start idling high, and then adjust the idle then.

if that doesn't work, clean the carb like scrammersam said.

Be careful, possible throttle cable issue here. Go through the carb first, then make sure the cable isn't hanging up somehow. Your etc should catch a cable problem.

I thought that the 425s had a habitual carb issue. I did a search and bumped one up.
