Default how to keep riders off of my property

Call the sheriff.
I have riders on my property too. It doesn't bother me too much but recently they left some trash. I am not sure if they tossed it or lost it.

If it's legal in your state, put a small tape recorder in your pocket when you confront him. (Or even use a video recorder.) Take the recording to your local prosicuting attorney (or your lawyer) and file a complaint.

Can prolly get an attorney to send him a nice letter.....should't cost all that much....most people don't like attorney letters explaining things in how they are about to get creamed in the courts

Another thing...maybe you could take up a new hobby..my grandad used to keep colonies of bees in making honey..I would always steer well clear of them

Squeege makes a good point with the attorney. If you don't want to get "the law" involved, you have limited options. Any plan that involves damaging his property or potentially injuring him will surely end in a result much worse for you than having this jackass there in the first place. For the love of god, don't go pointing a gun at him. It sounds like this guy is pretty overbearing to begin with and you don't seem to know his personality very well. If you pull a gun on him, you may have to use it. It's the old fashioned horse sense that is supposed to keep a reasonable man from picking a fight in a bar, you never know the other guy or what he is capable of. It would be best to get the police involved, they've probably seen this kind of stuff go wrong before and will probably try to make a lasting impression on him to knock it off. Do you live in the boonies? Just outside of town? Farmland? If it is a very rural setting, I would guess that the local police probably are well versed in these issues. This will start a paper trail that may help you if he was to get onto your property and get hurt.

if you dont want him on your property because your afraid he'll gewt hurt and sue you then post up signs saying "private property, Keep off" and another sign stating "ride at your own risk". then that releases you from all liability if he hurts or kills himself. BUT if hes tearing up your land and leaving trash everywhere then i suggest you file a complaint with the local law. dont go throwin out nails and pointing guns at people. that will just make things worse. like what was stated before, have a lawyer send a letter, call the sheriff and have him go talk to him, or talk to the prosecutor. i know in ohio, if you have no tresspassing signs, and you catch somebody on your property then they can be charged with criminal tresspassing. So, its up to you what you do, all we can do is suggest.

Chop down a couple trees and drag the logs in front of his entrance. Or just dump a pile of dirt in front of his entrance. Just make it hard for him to get in.

I'm a Law Enforcement officer here in Indiana and deal with this issue all the time. I would inform this trespasser of the complaint and if he continued he would be placed under arrest for tresspass. The victim would also complete a "no contact order" which would prevent the tresspasser from contacting the victim in anyway or further charges would be filed. Contact your local Law Enforcement agency for help, that's what were for. Don't set traps, there is case law that could hold you responsible for civil damages, such as personal injury. Some states could also pursue criminal charges against you (the actual victim) Good Luck.

hes right as much as you dont want the law involved, your better off to do so. if you hurt or destroy his stuff you could be liable. sucks i know but the bad guys always seems to have more rights then us. up here if some one says stay off my land, thats all he needs to do. no signs or anything esle needed. if he doesnt he can be arrested. just my 2 cents of seeing it happen.
