Default 2004 700 EFI problems

I have a 2004 700 EFI that has developed some problems lately. About 6 months ago the rpms started to read 0 when it was idling but would seem to read the right rpms when on the throttle so I left it alone. A couple days ago the spedometer started reading whatever it wanted when running, will read anywhere from 0 to 60 just sitting there idling. And now today as soon as you touch the throttle with it in reverse it will die imediately unless you are holding the reverse override button. Is there one problem that might cause all of this or are there probably multiple things wrong with it. Just looking for a place to start looking. It only has about 2300 miles and almost 500 hours on the motor. Thanks for any help

The speedo head could be doing all of that .it controles the reverse saftety and the rpm display thats what I would look in to.

yeah, check your speedo sensor on the front right brake caliper. when those go out, the speedo will read speratic numbers, and will screw up reverse(without the override button pushed).
