My wife and I have talked about this a few times. We have all the camping gear and we often "Condo" it (thats what we call tenting). Mostly, we RV to a campsite and ATV from there. We are still exploring the ATV trails in MI to determine what is where. But I got to admit.. 60 miles per day is all that we prefer to do.

We must be doing it in a little more leisurely fashion. We spend quite a bit of time camping when we do it. 50 miles a day would be a big day for us. We are wanting to go to one of the larger trail systems this year. I am in the early stages of reconning sites.

WOW...180 miles in one day.......also, 150 miles per tank......didn't think that was possible. Can you tell us what sort of conditions and if you have to really baby the throttle etc....

I'd love to check out Idaho some day.

I agree with you LawdogB2. We probably average 30-50 miles per day when we go out. It all depends on the trails. Slow twisty trails (goat trails) slow us down and the super-highways speed us up. However, the super highways get boring after awhile. Plus the wife likes to stop often and take pictures, eat sandwiches...

I don't get to go much - once a year - We tow a cart and go back a few miles on the river and set up on the sand river banks . We don't put all that many miles on .

I ussually go with my youngest son , he is 15 now .

my bud and i have talked about it a few times but time is always a factor. amnif we rode 75 miles in a day that would be alot. it must no hard trails and like a road hes on to do 150 or 180 miles in a day. i my self prefer a comb. of hard (woods, mud, rocky) trails to just driving down some dusty trail. thats what my gmc is for.
