Default 01 trailblazer hop ups

i just bought an 01 trailblazer for my gf. i have to admit for the trails around my house this quad is better suited for them than my 400ex. how ever it doesnt leave ME with the satisfied feeling of power that my ex does. i am not looking to making my TB keep up with my ex, but rather give it a little more oomph. what kind of mods can i do to this machine? i dont want to put an exhaust on yet. im thinking air filter, reeds(if they make them), boost bottle. if i did use a clutch kit in the TB do i need an exhaust?? what website carries pipes other than FMF and DG?? i heard the name rick ritter thrown around. is there a website for his products? im just curious. also on the right side of the motor there is a yellow dip stick. what goes in there??? let me know what everyone comes up with.

There is ALOT that can be done to one, Look at my list in my bio below. I really like www.hpd-inc.com and Rick Ritter www.rittercycle.com . They both are great people to deal with and both offer VERY good performance parts. You need a pipe before you do much clutching, then you tune the clutch to fit the pipe. I hope this helps you out some.

First off stay away from DG and FMF for 2stroke Polaris stuff. They are great for the imports but not Polaris due to the fact that they can not tell you what the exact rpm range of the pipes are and with out knowing that clutching to match the pipes power range is next to impossible. The best bang for your buck would be the RCR stage 1 kit or the HDP pipe and matching clutch kit.
Dont be surprised if once you start playing with this 250 that you dont end up trading your EX for a 400 Scrambler. Now those can be made into rockets.
By the way the dip stick you were asking about is the transmision dipstick. And the 250 TB has no reeds but they do make a reed conversion kit but it is pricey and will hang with if not out do your EX on excelleration.

Leroy if you are worried about the loudness of the pipe you can get a pipe and use a factory silencer from a 400 scrammy and it will be just as quiet but wont take too much power away.

For what it is worth, my wife thinks my Trail Blazer with an HPD pipe and silencer is too loud (sounds great to me though). If you are worried I would follow 2manytoys advice and use a stock 400 silencer. The pipe and silencer (along with better filter and rejetting) are the only mods to my engine, and they definitely made a big difference.

I agree with 2many on the stock 400 silencer.Match that to the HPD pipe with the matching clutch kit and good air filter on it really livens up the TB.It will raise the engagment rpm of the clutch but it doesnt take long to get used to it.

We also offer a full line of parts for that quad too, you can sheck out our web-site @ www.hotseatperformance.com or just click on our sponsor link on the home page or on top of the forum header. If you do decide to go with a pipe you should also know you will have to re-jet and change your cluthcing too.
