27's on SP500 Aluminum Wheels
#1
Ok, I've done a bunch of searching and cannot find a difinitive answer to this question -
27x10x12's on the front of the an SP500 - it has these wheels - http://www.polarisindustries.com/NR/...FIredflame.jpg
Will the 10's rub? Do I need spacers or do I have to run a different wheel to run the 10's up front? Do I need the spring spacers?
I blew a stock tire out this weekend rock climbing and was going to get some replacements. The locals only offer the Mudlite xl in a 10" width. I might be able to order the 9" someone - any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Todd

I don't know for certain but I doubt the extra 1/2" in and out will rub anywhere on the frame or plastics. .. I have the same machine, but thankfully haven't had the tire trouble some others *my friend included* are having with the pxt's .. *knock on wood*
The dealer should be able to tell you for sure I would think ??

First you have to put 27's all the way around. Second your going to loose power going oversize. If your 500 is a EFI and you do cluch it to recover the power loss you will need to reprogram the EFI. You need to find out what the offset is on your wheels to assure the 10" won't rub, go to ITP's web site they have a referance area that displays the bolt pattern and offset. IMO I would go with the stock tire size.

It's an 05' carbed model. I'm planning to put 27's all the way around, main concern is the front tho. It is the LE model that came with the newer style aluminum rims (see my photo gallery). It currently has a heelclicker clutch in it. Stock it came with 26's. From what I've read and just been told, I think the largest width I can go it 9in if I don't change wheels.
