I mount and dimount all my own tires for the six plys spray some starting fluid in the tire light a match and toss it in it usally will set the bead and the pressure is about half. Remember starting fluid is HIGHLY combuistable so use a little amount. The first time I used this method I sprayed way to much in the tire so when I tossed the match in it blu the valve stem out and went about 20ft in the air needless to say I had to start all over again the tire was fine.

ive seen that done on big truck tires before. like you said kinda of dangous if you do it wrong. sometimes using a strap aroung the tire works as well.

Very dangerous practice there Doctorvic. While it is common practice in the trucking indutry to mount tires like this the safety conscious operations use a tire cage so as to protect their employees. I know a guy who lost his hand while doing this in his home garage with the tires off his tandem truck. Tire got blown up against the wall trapping his hand between the rim and the concrete wall in his garage squating his hand so severely that it had to be amputated. Build yourself a cage Vic and remove that hazard from what you are doing.
