I just ordered 2 489 XT for 37.50 and I was wondering if anybody has used blemished tires?

 

put slime or tube in it if yer worried

 

what kind of blems are you talking about. if you are talking about a possiable leak i dont think i would buy them instead pay the extra for good tires.

 

Are they brand new? If so, it is most likely just a cosmetic blemish. It will not affect performace. Tire manufacturers do not sell tires that have anything wrong with them other than a cosmetic blemish due to legal reasons. Imagine the law suits that would be filed if they sold a blemish that made a tire unsafe?

 

Brand new from Nebraska tires. The salesman said they just have the AT489 off of them rubbed off with a wheel.

 

Sounds like a obvious cosmetic blem where the name got smudged. They will be fine. I would buy blems in a flash and I have been in the tire business for 15 years.

 

Theres two brand new 489's on ebay right now for 28.00. I wouldnt be afraid of blems.

 

Blems are fine . Tire MFG 's won't sell a tire that may hurt you -- if they did they would be in deep doo doo .

Agreed they may be good but do look at where they sometimes grind off the name. I have seen where they grind too deep and then you can feel the sidewall is soft from them removing too much.

Odds are you will get a good set.
