my predator wont start if it hasnt been driven for a hour or longer, the only way to start it is to bump start it or put your hand over the end of the carb and force it to start and that takes a while to. Its jetted correctly and the fuel mixture is right on. It just started do this lately. If i can get it started and i drive it down the street it will idle perfectly and if you kill it and start it up again it starts right up with the starter. It runs good and revs right up just if you let it sit for awhile and try and start it up it wont start it will just crank. i choke it, i throttle it it just wont start unless you bump start it by towing it or put your hand over the end of carb then take your hand off then usually will help it start. it cant be because its cold because its 115 degrees here in the day and at least 90 at night. Please any help i need to get this fixed!!!!thanks

The valves are tight.

Adjust the valve clearance.

you need a service manual. it will tell you how and what the tolences you need for the intake and exhaust. not sure what the valves are on that and you might need shimms some one will know though. ifyour valves are too tight it doesnt have much compression.its probably why it starts cold and not hot. it also gas can get vapor locked make sure the vent hoses arent pinched.

well accually it the other way around, starts warm but not cold, and do the valves get tight from just driving it because it never has done this before.

yes, all valves get tight from just driving them.when they start to wear they loose the tolences they had. easy way i would check myself is,that i would do a compression check. what happens is the valves arent closing all the way in the seats letting it not hold compression. does this crank over real fast or i should say faster then it used to,with low compression it will wind over faster. yoo sure your chock cucuit is not clogged or does your chock work. usally it wont start if its hot either with tight valves. just my 2 cents.

no it cranks over the same as it always had and it accually is a little slower because i think i need a new battery but ive tried starting with the charger on it and it helps a little, my choke does work btw, and should i take it to my dealer and have them adjust the valves because i dont want to screw it up. and this valve problem is this why it wont idle when its cold either thanks

if you beleave its the valves i would recommend taking to the dealer. at least you know its adjusted right.if you can do a compression test at least you can comfirm it.
