the predator's weight problem source is the Fuji motor. the motor weighs so damn much. the 525KTM motor is like over 25 pounds lighter than the Fuji motor while making like 15 more horsepower. with that kind of weight loss, a new swing arm, a hybrid metal aluminum frame and that much more power, i think the Predator 525 could be the LT-450 killer

as i see it, that's Polaris's biggest problem!

the biggest change i would like to see in Polaris is testing and proving new features and designs BEFORE selling it to the public. a simple prototype out in the field for maybe 6 months would solve this. does toyota/honda put out stuff before extensive testing has been done?YES does Dodge?NO.........which 2 of the above MFG's are known for top-quality? HELLO! i don't see why Polaris can't do the same.

i do like the idea of a lighter Sportsman. when every other MFG has a 600lbs ute, why continue building heavier? in fact from '99 to present, the Sportsman has PUT ON weight! like 15-20lbs!! WTH!

I appologise in advance for being blunt.... but are you mentally handicapped?
I know for a FACT that both Polaris and Dodge EXTENSIVELY test their product to the Nth degree prior to releasing to the public. To think that such prominenet companys could risk not doing so reeks of ignorance. I only hope that you are simply trolling for a reaction and aren't truly that S.L.O.

I hopr polaris puts there nice rims on the 500EFI because all the other EFIs have them and they are the nicest wheels on a utillity atv

interesting you said that. Polaris and Dodge are partners, and they actually test their suspensions through Nth Degree (www.nthdegreemobility.com) ironic huh?

Dodge is NOT known for reliability. it would take too long to go into detail. my first hand experience with the SP500EFI PLAUGED WITH first year problems is also very well known. no trolling here- stating first hand facts bro!

where's the 4-wheel braking in the X2 if Polaris is doing all this "extensive testing" you are claiming? where did all the leaky 700 water pumps come from in the first AND second year?

how about my NEW '06 SP500EFI's OVERHEATING, constant STALLING, all in the FIRST TEN MINUETS of operation? 8 MONTHS later they finally come up with a fix for the stalling! how about the Halkeye bending rear IRS? and the Phonix's pooping out? and the first year Predator transmissions?....and the list GOES ON!

BJ426 , not to be too blunt but you must be on Polaris's PAYROLL. (and that's as nice as i can put it............oh but i can't restrain myself.........you really gotta pull your head out of your arm pit if you truely believe Polaris does "extensive testing.") i own and ride the product, including the new models, and they are hardly being "tested" by the factory.

sincerely,

let's see new lighter Sportsman AND a Sportsman Classic model. that way both utility crowds will be happy- the guys that like the heavyweights and those that like the better handling and speed of a lighter model.

a Scrammy with a 800EFI motor will be insane! just FANTASTIC for the power hungry!

i hope Polaris does well. afterall, i've been loyal since '95. (first year Magnum425- first year 4-stroke)

i really hope you're right with that too. Having a lightweight Sportsman, having the classic Sportsman, and changing the Sports section and centering it around KTM. What a lineup! OO LA LA.

Hehehe...errr yeah. We will have to agree to disagree there on the dodge:

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/03/c...ile-dodge-ram/

Even if this is a stretch of the truth...which I'll admit is possible, I know more than one Dodge owner with 400,000 miles on a original Cummins. This is fact. Now I can't speak for gas powered engines on trucks as I utterly refuse to buy them (lower resale, poor milage, less power...etc etc etc)...but on a Cummins...oh they are known to go pretty much forever.

im hopeing for an outlaw with the ktm 525 and 4wd under 450lbs and the pred with a 450ktm under 400lbs. that outlaw would be a renegade killer. Sure a smaller motor but less weight and better handling and close to the same power.

on the utilities i would like to see better CV boots and under 700lbs

ok, so lets picture that

Polaris Outlaw 525, 4x4, IRS, Hybrid Steel/Aluminum frame, manual gearbox, say... 450 pounds. the 525 motor makes the same horsepower as the Rotax 800. i think it might be more than a renegade killer, more like a phsycotic mass murdering rampaged drunken renegade serial killer
