I have 3 Polaris' and love them all. My daughter races her Predator 90 and I can honestly say that hers is one of the very few that isn't always having mechanical problems. The other rider's machines are always breaking down or getting worked on between motos (because they are not running right) but not my daughter's Predator! (She is a pretty agressive rider too.)

 

As you all know I am a Polaris die hard.
The 400L engine is one of the best ever made along with the 250 2strokes.Now the 500HO is a dependable machine too.But when you go to putting EFI and other computer assiste thing on any atv you are asking for trouble.If nit now somewhere down the road.
My plan is to keep my 02 Scrambler going as long as I can because I WONT HAVE A EFI NOTHING
Just ask my Harley buddies the ride the new ones but my old FLH gets all the looks.

 

Well the 500 EFI is a first year machine and 1st year machines have their problems. It sounds like it's all tied to the EFI...not the engine.

 

the polaris FUGI engine it a japaneses built engine, and if ur buddy has had idleing issue and overheating issue, WHat is the beef with the engine, it is fuel system and cooling system issues, not engine. The fugi engines are bulletproof, ask any polaris die hard, and i u go an honest competitor they will agree, no other engine inthe market has more units sold per capita and least issues related to manufacturer. that said, having to agree with all the others, no matter what u buy, u are bound to get a bad one, were only human, If some pople that are so stricken on badmouthing the manufacturer no matter what brand, best just march ur but to the builder and show them how u can doo a better job, if not got the *****, zip it. This is also ur friend bike correct, if it is such a problem, let him tell it, at least we may get the whole story.
Ive seen guys that can pick up a unit from the dealer and have thousand of dollars worth or mechanical repairs in under a couple hundred miles, they abuse them, they break.

craw, you are completely out of your mind, you dont know ****, your a dumba$$, your saying ford and polaris are both crap, you sound like the kind of guy that has tons of friends and everyone likes and gets along with... Ford is crap LOL..... say that to the mustang in my garage with a supercharged 475 horsepower in it.

Got 3 fords in my driveway. To with 60,000 miles, one with 200,000 +. Not problems with any. What brand do you drive craw8101? I work at a dodge, GM dealership. Wanta talk about troubles? They both have a big list of issues. Don't make em bad though.
