goriila winch problems

i know its been said there pretty much the same as warn but i found this not to be true. like i have stated in other post the one i put on my buds bf 750 has had nothing but problems. first the water got in it and destroyed the paper gaskets and now it doesnt free wheel hardly at all. now now when we went out yesterday and needed the damn thing it would only go in and not out to relaese the cable. it may only been 125.00 to my door but its worht about what we payed for it.

The problem with it going in and not out is in the contactor. I put a different contactor and it has been fine ever since. The freespool is because of mud in the selector switch. If you take it apart and clean the mud out it will work again. I use mine almost every weekend and has been fine since new except for the contactor and the cleaning.

I had the same problem with mine.I contacted them and they sent me a new one.I took the 1st one apart and found no dirt in there.after look every thing over i found that there is a round cage like thing that has 3 small gears in it.It seans that the top and bottom pieces of soft steel are pinching 2 of the 3 gears not allowing the to spin.

I contacted george@
george@probusllc.com Sorry I dont know how to link. You will need the ebay item #
He sent me a new winch, no charge,The first. one would work using the switch, it just wont free wheel. I even hooked the cable to a tree and tryed to back up to see if the cable would unwind, cable wouldnt move.
And please dont anyone think that I am complaining, cause i am not. You get what you pay for. Service is good thou
