I take a dxg-305. I got it at radio shack. It takes digital pics, digital video, records, mp3 and its a web cam. Small, compact and fits in a t-shirt pocket (About the size of a pack of cigarettes). Not waterproof. It was cheap, $120.00. You could find one now for maybe $80.00. Even has 4x zoom.

I use an olympus stylus 300 (its "old" now, but there is a 400, 4.0 MP out) in the olympus waterproof enclosure. I paid as much for the enclosure ($120) as for the camera, but aftere ruining one camera, I know its worth the money. I'm a mud runner so I know it will get sloppy while I'm out.

I just got a Sanyo exacti vpc c6, does video with stereo sound up to forty minutes on highest setting with a 1 gb sd card takes 6 megapixel pics but can go as high as 10 mp and down to .03 also 2mp 3mp. very small will fit in a shirt pocket and can be easily used one handed and can take pics while recording a video 5x optical zoom 60x digital zoom 2inch lcd built in flash although only good for about 10 feet in low light. all metal body comes in red black and gold, comes with case recharging port, software etc. I paid 300 at prestige camera.com It also takes great pictures and the video is very good for 640X480 mpeg4 format, comes with connectors for tv viewing and has a remote control for the tv. pict bridge capable and pictures can be modified and saved in the camera. You can also pull off video captures for printing. It should be ideal for you.
