polaris reliability

I got about 500 miles on my 2004.05 sportsman 500 h.o
never had any problems at all I knwo a few others that have had no problems also. I find it kind of weird that people bitch and say that polaris onyl has 6 months.
I got mine in Quebec. my dealer backs his products that he sells and even gave me a free extended warranty for 2 years which I have in writting, also gave me a free inspection every 6 months or so.
The machine is great and I have had no problems. excpet breaking tires so I am upgrading them.
when i take it to my dealer he notices a screw missing, lose or a part broken he will change it with no charge and the service is great.

HOW many times has a thred like this come up? Sheesh. Polaris makes great atvs. The best all around IMO. They are very reliable if you just have some common sense and if you are nice/generous when around you're dealer. I see very few issues with these machines. Frankly, i see two. I see the NEW FIRST YEAR MODEL '06 500 EFI's having trouble with stalling etc.. And i see the 800's and i think 500 efi's as well having trouble with melting plastic? SO BEFORE YOU BUY, talk and have a good conersation about it all with you're dealer. I am getting ready to buy another ATV soon. If anyone you follow my posts, you should know i beat the hell out of my machine. I should have pics up very soon. I really want to get an '06 800 Camo. I dont see any ATV thats better all around. But im goin to wait for '07's to come out. ANYWAY, BEFORE i buy, i will talk to my dealer, who is a pretty nice guy, and i will explain to him all of the problems i've been hearing about the 800 (which are few), what we can do to fix these problems if they are to arise, and how to fix them. RSEB, its all about first year models, and lemons, and not doing maintenance. Oddly though, is the fact that i see MANY lemons on this site, but not in the real world...

I am also lucky enough to have a friend who works in the service department at Polaris and he has (5) atv's and Not ONE is a Polaris and my history with the Phoenix I bought they can all go to he11 with their customer service to their price for parts.........just my 2 cents.

Shut up and please go away. We dont want to hear about what you're girlfriends cousin has to say about ATV's. Personal, true experiecnes are what matters. And when i go back to my dealer they do have alot of atv's to do maintanence on, but they are all the OLD Polaris. Not the new.

I believe we have a situation on this forum where unreliable Polaris machines are way over represented compared to the population in general. In Utah at the Fillmore ATV Jamboree Polaris was far and away the most common single brand of quad. I saw many 10 to 15 year old Polaris quads running all over the mountains and doing just fine. Everyone I talked to tried real hard to get me to buy a new Polaris due to reliability and performance. The 500HO Sport was most often recommended machine. I would probably own one now except for the linked left hand brakes and the Polaris 2WD engine braking system. I just prefered the different features of the Yamaha. This had nothing to due with Polaris reliability. Polaris quads also seems to age gracefully without the tendancy for owners to want the latest new machine every few years.

Im going to agree with this guy. My girlfriends cousin works a ta polaris dealer as a mechanic he says he will always have work in the future with polaris atv`s. He also said they make alot in parts and service. He rides honda if that helps anyone. I think that there is som many polaris owners out with to much money that wont admit they have problems cause they can afford it.

my 2006 sportsman 500efi is very dependable. i have owned it 1 month and this weekend will be my 3rd weekend with out it. it has been in the shop longer than at my house and the dealer still can not for sure tell me that they have found the problem. so i am leaning towards thinking they are crap.
ps i have a 2006 sportsman 500efi mossyoak with accessories that im willing to take a big $$ loss on if someone wants to buy it.
