Default 800 gas tank

Hi everyone. I asked this question a while back and dont think it ever got answered. Has anyone with an 800 EFI, measured how much fuel the tank will hold? Booklet says just over four gallons and I'm wondering if thats a misprint? Filling from a gas can really isnt telling me much. Has anyone gone to a filling station and noticed if it takes closer to 5 gallons, like the older Sportsmans used to hold. How big is this tank????

I know it should be 20 gallons

depends on how you drive it. i've gotton 8 to 16 mpg when it was new. sucks only getting 40 miles out of a tank. but you play, you pay. if you drove it w/out horse plaing on good ground you would get alot better i think.

I got around 16 mpg on the trails with mine. Thats with 450 miles or so on it. We were riding fairly slow with no mud or water to play in. When riding just around home where I am on and off the gas alot, and in mud, etc,,,, only around 10.

Thanks for the info guys. Ive gone only 40 miles, (Gently) and showing only one bar on the gage. Guess they all must run about the same for MPG, but I still love the machine!!
