Default Polaris poor customer support

I had a real problem with misinformation from a local dealer (Broward Motor Sports, Davie Florida). I have a 2004 ATP/500HO. They advised me that the same fluid that goes in the rear diff. is the same fluid that goes in the transmission. They also said that their Polaris tech has not shown up to work in three days and there’s no one to ask! Customer Service said there is no avenue to contact tech support for this simple issue. I will be sending this e-mail to the Miami Herald Newspaper warning other Polaris owners of our very poor customer support. I have never had this problem with my Honda or my prior Yamaha.

It should be right in your owners manual.

It's not! The fiuld for the rear diff and the transmission is almost named the same in the manual. My local dealer has no idea. I already been through this several times. The only thing Polaris can say is to take into the dealership who gave me the wrong info

Wow.. maybe you should go to a different dealer..
My dealer sells and repairs the ATV's that he sells..

and lives by his word. gave me the extra warranty for free.

I haven't had any issues.

Front Diff: Demand Drive Fluid
Rear Diff: Angle Drive Fluid
Transmission: AGL
Engine: 0-40w Synthetic

While I've heard of people substituting various fluids for the above, I don't know anyone that has put enough miles on a machine to figure out whether or not it really safe to do so. For instance, Polaris has said it's ok to substitue ATF for the Demand Drive Fluid, but ONLY in the hubs (which your machine doesn't have) and not in the differential.

That being said:
For those that like to work on their own machines, I would reccamend buying the factory service manual; or any service manual for that matter. It goes over how to do everything from from an oil change to engine rebuild. They are only about $40. It also covers all the fluids.
