I own a scrambler and I would'nt trade it for nothing. It has the speed, power, torque, and looks that everyone wants.
During the six months of ownership with the machine it's been through conditions that would make other brand two-stroke 2x4 owners walking home instead of riding.

Sport, you asked how the 4wd will compare to the 2wd, well if they weighed the same which mine does 465lb, & they had the same hp, then the only difference would be traction which the 4wd would have over a 2wd only out of the hole, after that they'd be equal. I went riding w/ my friend on his Banshee & another on a YZ & another on a 4wd Honda utility yesterday. I said to myself dozens of times throughout the day, I am so glad I have a 4wd Scrambler. We left the YZ at the bottom of 1 hill & picked him up on the way back since he could not make it after about 8 tries up a hill. The Banshee could make it either after 4 tries, so we pulled it the rest of the way up by hand w/ ropes. The Banshee rider got stuck over 8 times & was pushing & pulling it allot & the bike rider was stuck about the same plus he wrecked about 4 times just from hitting a root or something in the trail. Plus the Banshee had to hit stuff dangerously fast to make it & almost fiped it sideways off the trail & into a 20 foot cravas where the Honda 4wd & myself could go at safe speeds & still make it no problem at all. There were some scary hills that we had to go up, to cover the trails & I would have been scared to death attempting it on a 2wd & was thankfull I had 4wd. The ground was partly frozen & muddy. I let the 2wds go first if they can make it then I know I can make it. The slightly modified Banshee & I are tied in a drag so I could also keep right w/ him when he opened it up. Great day of riding. Sorry for the long reply.

Well just read the review of the scram 500 2x4 on ehlert powersports.com. Basically they were suprised at how fast the quad really is. They said it felt like their 400 sport with a pipe. I think I'm leaning towards the 500. But I have now found out I might be losing my job and being laid off, so buying new toys is out for now.

Hey, is that me and Xplor you're talking about?
Yes the 400 will be real fast..I think he has the clutch roller kit, HPD pipe, Hot Seat springs, and a nice air filter. My shee is almost bone stock (K&N air filter). On the gravel road we raced sunday, he gets grip right on the start and flies away, while I'm still there, spinning like mad (but he cheats, he uses 4x4). It takes me some time to catch up (2nd gear, at the best -on a high grip terrain- or 4th on the gravel road).
Go with the 4x4. And if you had a 250R, be ready to change your shocks the day you have it.
