Transmission problem I think?
#1
I need some help. This might be a little hard to explain but here it goes. I have a 2002 trailblazer and on take off it and at slow speeds it makes a loud clicking sound and I can't figure out what it is I dont know if it is something in the transmission or if maybe the sprockets are worn and slipping a tooth. Any help would be great
Thanks,

This might sound stupid but it could be your axle slipping in your hubs, but it would make the noise your talking about at high speeds also. My second guess would be you chain slipping on sprokets, check to see if any rollers on your chain are broke off. If its not any of that It could be your transmission, but I would not expect that in a 2002.

If it's like my 03, it wasn't a consistent click. Check all sprockets and chains, and they were fine. Before I had a real good chance to look at it, one of my nephews took it out. Now I have no reverse.

chances are its the spokets or chain. make sure the chain tight enough and isnt wanting to jump or make sure the chain isnt kinked somewhere. start w/ that first to rule it out.

check the essentrics, where you tighten the chains. I had a bearing go out of the one right in front of the motor,it made a clicking sound for a while then got alot worse.

If the drive chain and sprockets are good I would say the chain in the tranny is bad.

Had the exact same problem with my 2001. It always happened on takeoff and when the rear tires came under a great amount of pressure and it would sit there and click and clunk. Ended up being worn gears in the transmission.
