Grinding noise at high speed
Hello,
I have a 2003 Sportsman 600. I've noticed latetly that when in high gear, when it gets going at 40mph, a loud grinding noise can be heard, almost like a really loud rattle, and I loose power. I can go faster than 40mph, but it has to work pretty hard. (and that noise is horrible) I then put it in low, and right at 15mph it makes the same loud grinding noise.
Doing some testing, the grinding noise does NOT happen until I've ridden about 5 miles and it's warmed up. We have cut firewood recently, and I've pulled a ton of weight behind in low, and no grinding noise at all. (of course I didn't hit the 15mph)
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!
