my 2000 Sportsman had a 5.25g fuel tank and i thought that was terrific! i just can't see why Polaris has gone down hill over the years and now has a 4.35g in my old 700EFI and i think the owner's manual read 4.25g in my 500EFI.
just plain cheap and stupid if you ask me. the large tank was one of the HUGE positive points that set the SP apart from the other ute's. now they are soo-much alike feature-4-feature that the SP iMO is slightly behind........because of that extra weight and lower range and the fact the other utes have IRS, disc brakes, auto trannys, ect, ect.
the gap has not narrowed, it's closed!

i think Pol has to work on the bigger tank, fix all the 500EFI problems, and fix the un-acceptable MELTING PLASTIC. that's just plain crazy, shows that they don't care, and no R+D on a $7K ATV!
