Rolled her..time to rebuild
#1
Hello. First post here so id like to say greetings to everyone.
I ride a 01 sportsman 500, and rolled her in a ditch going about 60-70 klicks the other day. Didnt sustain major damage, but its not good either.
Ive decided im just going to buy parts instead of bringing it to somewhere to be robbed....my main challange is my gear selector. ITs jammed in high, no matter how hard i pull it wont shift. MY shifter is bent pretty bad so im guessing thats the problem right there. Linkage arms are in great shape, so im not worrying about that.
Im just wondering if i should replace the whole selector box, or open mine up and try and repair it. IS it a tough thing to do? Anyone with experience with this, i ask you for some much needed advice.
Cheers.

Good advice, used my shop manual and the box is good as new. Saved 200 there.
I called my local dealership to see if they could sell me a thumbstick, but supposedly you need to buy the whole throttle assembly, 200 bones! Anyone know where i could buy a stick? OR if anyone has one lying around il be glad to buy it off you for a very reasonable price.
thanks
