help needed, difficulty starting predator 50
#1
I have a 2005 predator 50. The problem is that if it isnt started at least every other day, then when I go to start it, it won't. If I remove the plug and squirt gas in the hole and replace the plug, then it will start and stay running without any problems.
Once started and you shut it off and then restart it, it will fire right up without any difficulty's. Like i said, if I start it and run it everyday or every other then no worry's, but any longer and it won't with out putting gas in the spark plug hole.
help!!!!!!!!! hate to take it to a dealer if I can help it.

Sounds like you are having a fuel issue. The problem might be that the fuel is evaporating form the carb bowl. I dont know mutch about the 50 if you have a prime setting on the fuel switch turn that on for few seconds before starting. You might also want to check the air filter(Clean it) and the intake tube connection to the carb.

krazy,
There's nothing wrong with your 50, mine does the same thing. What you have to do is prime the intake charge so it's overly rich, the choke alone is not enough. Since there is no primer bulb, you just do it with the throttle, just like we did in the old days when most cars were carbureted. Instead of pumping the gas pedal while you crank the starter in the car, you thumb-pump the throttle on the 50 while cranking. Works whether you're using the electric start or kick start.
If you end up flooding it (you'll smell gas) just close the choke and HOLD the throttle wide open (gets the most air this way) until it starts.
Good luck!
