Die Hard Honda Man maybe turning towards Polaris
#32
Yes, there was a reason. When researching for the purchase of my first quad, I mistakenly listened to people tell me that you don't need 4x4. " You can go anywhere with two wheel drive." Thats true. Never seen a mudhole that you couldn't drive around if you wanted to. But what is the fun in that ? Got tired of getting winched out.
during the short time that I had the Rancher, I rode with a group that included Sportsmans and 300 4x4's. There was really no comparison in performance. I wanted the 4x4, so I sold the Rancher, and went to the Scrambler. The Scram does okay in the mud, but I'm bigger than the average guy, and I need the floataion of the bigger tires, and the Sportsman just carries me better.
No slam on Honda, just not for me.

lance,
It tough descion on which is better, there is no doubt that Honda & Polaris are really the two leaders in the ATV industry.
I am in a similiar position in that a new quad is in my near future. The choices have been narrowed down to the SP500HO & the Kawasaki 650, with AC500 in third. There have not been to many details released on the Kawasaki so its hard to compare the SP500 to it.
The bottom line is ride them both & enjoy whichever you purchase. The only person that has to be happy with the decsion is you.
Good Luck.
