Rad freeze point temp????

Default Rad freeze point temp????

Does anybody know what the factory rad coolant is protected for the winter freeze point???I did not check mine yet and the temp here in jan. and feb can get as low as -30 to 35 C.It's not a problem I will still check mine ...but just thought I would send this post to find out any readers input before I check........Do you guys go 2-3 years before changing the Rad coolant????the quad is sportsman 450 BTW.....caper.......

I do mine ever year... when you change it use a 50/50 mix..

Is a 50/50 mix strong enough for the real cold temp........Do you use Alum. compadable anti-freeze...........................caper............ .THANKS

i live in wisconsin and i use a 50\50 and i change it every other year in my polaris and i havent changed it yet in my wifes brp

Default Rad freeze point temp????

How low is the freeze point on a 50/50 mix........may be only around -30 C or so ....Is that right!!!!!!!....caper.....

Why not stop at the parts store and pick up a tester.

that ought to take out the guess work .

A 50/50 mix should put you at a freeze protection of 26 to 28 degrees below zero. Since you are from Huntsville, you got nothing to worry about.

Default Rad freeze point temp????

i tested mine when i drained it to clean the radiator and it was good down to -35 f. i put new prestone 50/50 bck in it and got the same reading so im all set.
