Default ETC Problem

I have a 2005 Sportsman 500. The ATV stalls after coming to a complete stop (not every time though). I started playing with the throttle and quickly discovered while idling, I could also stall the engine by simply wiggling the throttle back and forth. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Actually, I temporarily fixed it by unhooking one of the ETC wires, but I would like to fix it the correct way. Are the 2 ETC wires supposed to make contact when the throttle is released? That seems to be what triggers the stall when the 2 wires make contact when the throttle is released. Should there always be a gap in between them? How can I adjust it? I appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Thank you

The cable needs adjusted.
Look in your owners manual on how to adjust.
