Default What year is this Explorer

Trying to find out the year of this Xplorer. My father-in-law just made a deal on an Xplorer 400 4X4. I don't see the year decal anywhere. This thing has a Hillbilly camo paint job and it is probably painted over. The vin is 2580421. After some minor research, I believe it is a Gen IV. The front looks alot like the '01 Sportsman I had. It has the 3rd headlight in a pod on the handlebars, It also has a straight rear axle like my Scrammy had. Exact year may be hard to pinpoint, I am trying to eBay some parts for repairs to a few items and would like a better idea of what I have.

We haven't seen a title to look on there. The deal isn't completely finished yet, I am not sure if there is a title for it. It was in Tn. Do they require a title like in Ohio?

Anyway possesion is 9/10 of the law! Thanks for any help!

Not many states requre a title. So I wouldn't worry about it.

However, possesion is NOT 9/10 of the law. Tell that to a judge and he will laugh at you
