I landed on a "ledge" just right that busted everything but still it just tipped over. It was 2 mph get off and not a 40mph wreck. I couldn't believe the damage...About 500 bucks damage.

Pretty good. I thought the pics were going to be of the damaged machine. Much to my suprise it was some of my own pics. Sounds like something got crossed up. I think everyone is seeing their own pics rather then you pics

anyways as far as the quad starting with pull but not switch it's probably either that the battery has just enough juice to power the ecu without any other load, especially a large load like a starter
or, if you actually turn the key to start it, it could have a bad contact that's causing the ecu to lose power in the start position, but makes the connection in the regular on position. If you have a seperate start button, then it's probably the first one.
If it does start by turning the key, then just find the start selinoid and jump it. If it starts by leaving the key on and jumping the selinoid, then it probably is the key switch. If it doesn't, then it's probably a weak battery.
