Sportsman 90 no spark bad stator?
#1
Hi, My son ran his 2001 polaris sportsman 90 thru about 2ft. of water and I had to replace the stator ($141.00) I put the stator in today it started up great 4 or 5 times. Took it around the house 1 time and now no spark again. My question is should I replace something else or do I have something that blew this new stator up. Is there a way to check the stator or the CDI? Thanks, Any help would be nice.

the rubber boot that fits over the spark plug...............unscrew or pull it off the spark plug wire and snip about 3/16 off each end of the wire...........they corrode at the ends and create a weak spark or no spark to the spark plug.............some wire screw off the rubber boot buy turning the wire off just like a nut or screw............(twist off)....................after snipping each end a bit.......twist back on...........screw the spark plug wire back into the boot.................the spark plug wire can also be corroded throughout the whole wire too.................if so go to your nearest friendly neighborhood auto parts store and get a new wire..........................

Battery good. It turns over good. I was either grounding out the plug to see spark or I would stick a screwdriver in plug cap to feel spark. Dont get spark either way. The fuse at the battery is good.
