If thats what you call it. I was thinking something els, but then rembered this is a family forum. If the hub was spinning on the axle, you might have a real hard time getting the hub off. The reason I think this is that it is a splined fit. If the hub was spinning on the axle, the splines got ruined on either the hub or axle or both. That is why it wont just slide off. You may have to replace the axle and hub.

uh oh, thats not good to hear, i really didnt want to replace the axle.

Well, it all depends. If the splines on the axle got messed up you will have to replace it. I would check ebay first if you end up needing an axle.

ok i was out there for a hour trying to get the hub off , the damn thing wont come off, how do u guys think i can get it off?

Remember, you always have the other side to look at as a reference. Also you can go to www.polarisind.com and go to riders and manuals. In there you'll be able to see a pretty good drawing. Doc

nvm i found a drawing and it looks like it should slide off but it doesnt , so u got any ideas how i can get it off

Possibly some type of puller if you have one. As far as I know it is a splined slip fit. The BFH method has always worked. If you don't have a puller, maybe a local auto parts store will loan one to you. Good luck. Doc
