Default sportsman 500 electrical problem HELP

I have a problem with a 1999 500 Sportsman 500. The headlights and speedometer dim every so often. Also the high beam burnt out yesterday the low beam bulbs burnt out. I have replaced the voltage regulater and put a new battery in it. Can any one give advice?

Default sportsman 500 electrical problem HELP

well since you said they dim , i would guess a bad ground some where. if its the regulater usally it will be too much power making the lights extremly bright just before they blow.if you put a tester on the battery w/ the bike off and put the lights on it shouldnt drop too much and be around 11.8 to 12.5 volts. w/ the bike running it should be 13 to 14.5 volts.
