Default Best clutch kit for big mud tires

what is wrong with my factory clutch set up. When I'am running along in low then, when the rpm gets up all of a sudden it feels like it shifts (like a car trans does) into a little higher gear ( not as in high range ) is this normal or is something going out ? I've never noticed this b-4

no neccasarily true I tune mine for better top speed.

you can set one up to grab hard out of the hole, be more responsive etc, but were ever you gain you tend to loose some somewere else when it comes to big wheel kits. there normally overweighted imo.

scamman72, keep a close eye on your chain and maintenance it, your going to stress it alot with those tires, the local polaris shop manager and lead 4x4 mechanic had 27 outlaws on his scrambler and snorkels. in deep mud if he caught a rock enough times his chain would break.not everytime but it did happen, you may want to ride with a spare under the seat or something.

I don't know the function these weights perform, cause I don't know all about the different clutches & which one is best or how to adjust them . My 400 sportsman don't even have 50 hrs on it how or what causes these weights to wear out this soon ? Can the weights be replaced ? do I have to buy new clutch ? is this normal ? sorry for all the questions guys . just trying to learn all about these things

99% of the time you do not get higher speed out of a clutch kit designed to give you better belt grab. most people who really dont know how the clutches work wouldnt know how to dial them in to get better top end w/out loosing alot of bottom end. sportsman4005, chances are your clutch is fine and not worn out at 50 hrs. w/out actually seeing it or felling i should say i think your set up is working as its suppose to be as it would shift out faster in low range. what is it doing that makes you think that something is wrong or are you tring to get more out of it.

Well , I will try to explain. I'am running along the trail in low range & the RPMS get kinda high & all of a sudden I hear the RPMS drop & I pick up a little more speed as if the thing has changed into 2 nd gear but, the shifter is still in low . Is it working correctly ? I have ridding others & their low don't appear to be as low as mine . Am I making sense ?
thanks
