I am considering buying a new 250 Ex. I have not owned an ATV prior.Do they ride good, have decent acceleration, hold up well etc. Any info would help.

Go to Polaris's website and look up the Xplorer 4X4(250). Click on both 2000 and 2001 models.Click on "reviews" for each model year. Especially read the one VS.the Yamaha Timberwolf 4X4.

I owned one for 8 months great machine! plenty of power, rode great , turned easily, ran really good ,I endee up trading it in on a SP 500 only reason was girlfriend enjoyed going too the 250 was't really up to the task of 80 -100 miles day rides with gear and two people, especially since she loves the mud. Deeper the better. but I should have juts bought another one of the 250 Xplorers. now she wants her own.

You may want to look at the 400 Explorer as well. They make more power than the 250's, and won't be outgrown as quickly ( as your riding skills increase with experience ).
Most of the owners in here love their 400's and wouldn't trade them for anything on the planet.

The 250 explorer is a great atv I own both a 400
& 250.I was going to buy another 250 insted of
the 400,but everyone I talked to said the same thing. You can do everything that there is to do
to a 250 & it will never even compare to a 400.
Sence owning a 400 all I can say is they where
right. For the money you can't beet the 250,I
think it is more controlable than a 400 but I
love my 400!

GOOD LUCK
TRUCK

Oh by the way I also think the 250 will out hill
climb anything but the 6x6.

I have a 00 400cc Xplorer,I absolutly love this thing. The only thing I dont care for is the chain drive.Mine has 900 miles on it and Polaris just replaced the chain and sprockets for me free.

Im begining to like this quad even more since getting it back from the dealership.I have not adjusted the new chain once since getting it back around 2 wks ago.Perhaps I got a bum chain right from the factory and everything will be ok now.

I cant comment to much on the 250cc Xplorer, I have never heard anything bad about it from anyone though,
Bill
