Default Speedometer Problems

Hi all,
1st.
First off my machine is a 2001 Sportsman 500 HO. My speedometer is working intermittenly and giving false readings. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes when it does work it is wrong. Where is the speed senor for this thing at? Anyone else have this problem?

Same machine. I replaced the drive belt a few miles back and ever since I have I noticed a sound that comes from the drive pully area. Sounds like nails on a chalk board. It only last for a moment and only during takeoffs. It seems to go away once it is warmed up. Ideas?

Default Speedometer Problems

The speed sensor is on the right front hub assembly. their are 2 wires and it bolts so it faces the rotor. This is probably your problem. Sorry cant help with the other problem!

Default Speedometer Problems

The sensor on the right front wheel is called a "Hall Effect" My Speedo only works for
the speedo's speed needle, trip meter and odometer, only the hour meter works without it.
It does not effect the running of my bike in anyway so I just think maybe I will just repair it another day.
