antifreeze problem
#1
Hey folks! My son has an 02 PS700 twin sportsman that is a good machine but has a problem right now.It seems after putting it away last fall and not riding much this summer may have hurt it then helped it.Thru the summer here in Maine it wouldnt start due to a battery problem got that fixed and maintained for the fall hunt.Ran great at first, but the temp light flashed but didnt over heat.Brought it back in the garage and discovered all the antifreeze missing from the radiator.Opps! Where did it go,THE ENGINE.Foamy at that.Havent run it since and serviced it again but havent dared to fire it up.Any ideas to what may have happened?

are sure it wasnt overheated b4 and boiled and spruwed alll the antifreeze out. it is what happens when there over heated from a blocked rad. other wise you have a leak somewhere that it completely drained it. i would refill w/ a 50/50 mix or polaris antifreeze which is a 60/40 mixture. you can buy like prestone 50/50 at wally world and use it. it takes about 2 qts to fill the system. fill it and then start it and run w/ cap loose to purge the air out. let the fan cycle a few times to be sure its working. all the time be looking for any leaking of the antifeeze for dippage. side note: b4 you fill it up chech the rad. real good for mud build up any where. check even behind the fan shroud in back. if its muddy take the time to take out the rad b4 you waste time filling it and over heat it again. trust me you cant just run a garden hose and expect to clean out the dried and packed mud. it may look clean from the front but do a real though check. let us know.
