please see 03 Sportsman 700 post. ran fine, washed it pit it away. next day it runs like crap. tank drained, seafoam added, bowl drained, cleaned. What else could it be? It idles ok but whwn i give it gas it sputters like its not buring the fuel. Plugs get black in 2 minutes.

check to make sure your electronics are dry, look at your coils. how is your air filter? any water in the airbox?
if your plugs are getting black that means your running WAY rich. way too much fuel. make sure your filter is dry, and in tip top shape, possibly replace it. if that dosnt fix it something may have gone haywire in your carburator

filter is new & clean. Plug wires are on tight. I checked for spark(good there) The plugs are not wet just black(carbon) It idles ok, when i gas it bogs and will eventually stall out. airbox is clean. I took the bowl off the carb and drained it. I was afraid to take it all apart.(its not a lack of fuel problem so I rulled out the carb. I took the back hose going to airbox off and the valve opens when I apply throttle and I can see fuel spraying down. It ran fine after riding. I washed it, put it away and the next day it ran like crap. I almost give up.

coil is dry, seems like good spark. WHat other electronics are there to check? Could it be the carb? It never missed a beat before. I put it away for 1 day it was fine. Could it be the carb? It idles fine so what jet could it be? Almost like its getting too much fuel. Should I pull it out and take it apart?

it just seems funny that you washed it and then it acted up. if anything being in mass. its getting colder but you wouldnt need to change the main jet. you could check to make sure the main didnt vibrate out letting too much in. the colder it becomes the leaner the carb will run not richer w/ the stock jetting.
