03 700 Running like crap, (suddenly)
#22
I use the choke to make sure it wasn't stuck. After it's been running for awhile(idle only) I try to pull the choke again and it sounds way to rich and wants to die. So I'm pretty sure the choke is working properly.

Check ignition wire for pinch; follow it all the way. Check your carb breather tube going out the bottom skid plate for blockage. Check throttle cable adjustment for play. Check battery cables all the way on their path. Charge battery.

did u mess w/ the air srew at all? the main jets job is from 1/4 to full throttle. if your jet was plugged it would stumble. when it sits there and idling can you slowly take off and it has power and runs fine up through? like mentioned b4 the spark does not get hotter but the timing does advance causing it to burn hotter when under higher speeds.it is possible to be a timeing issue. it just seems to me that it was fine until u got it wet causing the electrial to get wet causing problem. if the water got in the gas it would backfire from tring to burn the water or look at the gas and see if you got water in it.

That's what I would guess but I have no clue. I hope the dealer can figure it out. It is getting way to much fuel. It's even going onto my airfilter backing up throlugh the rear carb boot. I pulled the filter off again and the inside boot was wet with fuel. Something isn't right and I might be leaning towards a car problem buit again I have NO CLUE. I will let u know when I found out from the dealer. It's going in on Wednesday.

If you have water in the carb, it will sit at the bottom because gas/oil floats on water. This would also cause your problem because there may be enough fuel floating on top of the water for it to idle, but as soon as you hit the throttle it runs out of gas (and tries to burn the water). I'm still leaning towards an electrical problem though. Altough you can get the same black plug because of water, if it's causing it not to get a complete burn.
I'd say drain the carb first. If you can, drain it into a clear container so you can see if there's water in the bottom. If that's all clean, check your carb adjustments to see if they're right. Oh I just noticed that you're bringing it to the dealer on Wednesday.
