Ok i just went down to try to start my 500 scrambler, and for some reason the starter does not want to catch and neither does the pull start u pull it and it just comes out. And when you press the start button it rolls makes the starter noise

It would be highly unlikely that the pull start and the electric start were both broken. Open the clutch cover and turn the clutch by hand. If you do not feel any resistance you are probably looking at a broken connecting rod.

I just thought of one more thing. Is the spark plug in place?

A friend of mine had the same problem with his sp500, there is a spring located in the starter drive(not the starter itself)but at the flywheel the spring had broke. He took it to the dealer they fixed it in a matter of minutes.

Try to pull start it. Get it up to about 20 mph.
But it sounds like water has got in the pull start cover so pull the cover off and clean it up.

Bullgod

If the starter turns, but doesn't engage, you have had water in the casings, and it will be a bit rusty inside. This stops the cog thingy throwing out with the revs of the starter moter, and engaging the bigger cog thingy that starts the motor. Sorry for the techo descriptions, but I have the same problems with my 400. Every year the right side case comes off (you need a long reach 10mm socket to get the top bolt out), and the mud and crap gets cleaned out. Half fill it with CRC, and wait until it starts to do it again.

Whe the bike was newer I had a new starter motor replaced under warranty.

I would still take off the cover and clean it out the spring in the bendix broke in mine and it would not start. Make sure to drain the starter if you ride in alot of water
