Default My wrench is flashing

Okay i have 50 hours on my 05 700 sportsman. 250 miles. Any reasons why this would be flashing at me? I figured it was because my antifreeze was low. Well i added some and its still on. It seems like it is running fine though. Any suggestions would be great. Happy Thanksgiving.

HI RP700..

From the factory the speedos are set to start flashing after 50 hrs. It is for a service interval. It wont stop flashing until you reset it. At the 50 hour mark the suggested maror service service is the following. There are a few other things to do also, some of them I skipped becuase it was useless. Like to drain the carb bowl ect.. I did mine last week, took me about 2 hrs off and on. Pretty easy to do. Cost about $50 in fluids. I did it myself because I want to know how to do it.

Also if you dont have one invest in a service manual.

Lube all fittings, pivot points and cables.
I got a tube of polaris purple grease, I have 7 grease zerks on mine (4 total on the a arms, 1 on the center yoke driveshft, 2 at the ball joints) I put a drop of grese on the shifter arm as well, 1 drop at the selector and one back by the tranny.
Throtle cable and choke cable were fine on mine.
Inspect carb air and intake ducts for proper sealing and leaks/cracks
Inspect drive belt.
Cooling system inspect for freeze point and leaks.
Change your oil and filter

I replaced my transmission oil with AGL. It took 16 oz. Your 700 may be different. I think some of the 700's take AGL as well as angle drive fluid. On my 500 the AGL lubes the tranny and the rear gears for the drivetrain. I think the 700 uses AGl for the tranny and the rear drivegears use Angle drive fluid. Check this out to be sure.

Replaced my central hilliard lube as well. Took the bottom bolt out, drained out 5 oz, put the plug back in and opened up the top fill plug with a allen wrench, filled it back up with 5 oz of premium drive fluid. It is hard to get into the spot, i used a piece of clear hose and a syrenge.

To reset the trip meter look in your manual. It is pretty easy to do.. Parking brake on, machine in nuteral, hold down override switch, turn key on. Speedo should go to a screen that says something like "V1.7" then you can use the override switch to page thru untill you get to the wrench symbol. Then..

To reset the hours , press and hold the override button until the wrench starts flashing. Whne it flashes release the button. Each time you press the override switch the service hour will increase by 1 hour, if you hold it down it will scroll fast, if you go to far just keep holding it down, i think it will scroll up to 150 hrs then reset to 0 again. When you get to the hours you want it set at again just release the override button and wait until the wrench stops flashing when it stops blinking the service hours are set.

Its in your owners manual under Features..

Hope it helps.

I just sent you a Private message.
