Considering the original posts are 12 years old I don't know if heller 1 or any of the others are still around. Oil has changed over the years from the SH rating and a lot of people still use Mobil 1 0w40 and even a heavy duty diesel that many people are fond of for motorcycles and atvs is another one plus it's jaso ma rated.Suitable for wet clutch applications.

I looked at this old thread and thought, who are these people? I think I may have seen one person's posts before.

You know it's an old thread when neither one of has seen it in the last 10 years. But around here, zombie threads sometimes get raised from the dead. Mmm, brains.

Todays cars on the road are 4 stroke engines just like your atv if its a 4 stroke, engine oil is engine oil same for a 4 stroke atv. if you have 2 stroke atv then you need 2 stroke oil. and you dont put engine oil in your transmission . , and yes branded atv oil from atv manufactures is snake oil , my atv mechanic of 15 years that is well schooled and reknowned said so , so knock it off with the kawasaki , polaris and yamaha oil 4 stroke thing. 4 stroke engine oil is 4 stroke engine oil no matter how you look at it , mobil 1 0-w40 synthetic will work just fine!!

No it is not, If your ATV has a wet clutch, it must meet or exceed JASO MA2 or you will burn up the wetclutch. If it is energy conserving, it will not meet JASO MA2 specs.
