Default 06 sportsman 800 problem need help

I cannot get my 4 wheeler started. I turn the key and absolutely nothing happens. It doesnt turn over and the screen doesnt come on. I tried jumping the battery today which did nothing. Does anyone have any idea on what could be wrong?

First check your battery with a voltmeter. Mine went away on my 800 and jumping it would not help. Next, I would remove your pod cover and check the connections. We had an 800 die on the trail--dead no power. Took the pod cover off and found wire connector had come disconnected. This is where I would start.

I had the same problem with mine.....I spent at least a half-hour disassembling the pod & tracing wires, only to find out..........................................

The handlebar switch was OFF!!

This is my first Polaris, & had no idea the handlebar kill switch will override the key switch. Live & learn!

The sad part is, I've been working on bikes, cars etc. for 20 years!

not sure if the main fuse in the front under the rad cap would be burned or not. not even sure if theres a fuse link in the battery line might be though.

I had the same problem with my 06 sprtsmn 800, check the connections on the starter solenoid, its under the left rear fender(left if your looking at the back of the atv). This was the problem for me.

my 5 yo son pushed the kill switch one time, and it took me a day to figure it out, because i never used that switch after i juiced the battery once, when i left the key switch on, and stopped the engine with the kill switch.
