SPORTSMAN EFI 700 STOP FOR NOW REASON
#11
well i took it back to the shop and told them, they thought it might be the gas pump. so they thought they we try change it. so now i have to try that out. but they are not ruleing out the stator.if this does not work then we move on.

My '04 700 efi does this also. It always restarts after cooling down, and a shot of starter fluid will make it hit, confirming a fuel delivery problem. My local dealer charged me $90 to retape two worn wires and said it showed no codes and good fuel pump pressure and "was fixed". It continuies to die when hot and I checked with two other dealers. One said it would have to show some code if it died and another said he had only seen no codes despite stalling out on a machine with a bad crank position sensor. (I assume this is the stator you are talking about.) I don't want to replace the fuel pump if I don't have to. Would it be likely to just temporarily fail when the msachine gets hot? The crank position sensor seems more likely but that probably isn't cheap or easy either. Let me know what you find out or if you have any other suggestions. Thanks.
