Ive noticed there arent alot of Bolt On accesories available for the '97 Xplorer 500, but tons for the sportman 500. Is there a difference in these 2 rides, or will parts interchange.

explorer is a 2 stroke, theres plenty of mods for explorer.

Basicly the same. I think the major diff. was the xploer 500 had no speedo.

 

doesnt the xplorer have a solid rear axel? i think that is the main diff.

 

I think they were independent also.

 

I have a 97 Xplorer 500 that has independent and is also a 4 stroke. I had a 96 Xplorer 300 that was a 2-stroke and straight axle. The 400 in 96 is a 2 stroke also. From what I have found the 500's are all the same on the body parts. The 96 300 has a shorter frame than the 500.
