Default 4wd tire size and gearing!

OK guys, I finally understand how the Polaris Awd works with its overrunning front clutch's, and power always being supplied to cv's or differential. Now I've got another question for the Brain Trust.

My 00' Xplorer 250 came stock with a 23" front tire and a 24" rear tire, and 12T drive sporcket and a 42T rear driven sporcket (front is shaft drive). So I have 26" tires all the way around it. I need to change the gearing (3.50 to 1) to simulate a lager rear tire. A larger rear tire will give a higher gear ratio. So I believe I need to raise the gear ratio (lower the number) and if my math serves me right. I think i need to go to a 3.37 to 1. Now I just bough a new 12T drive sporcket and am going to use the 40T rear off my scrambler, this will give me a ratio in the rear of 3.33, which is alittle higher than my math tells me I need, but is the easiest for me to do at the moment.

This higher ratio, i dont believe will hurt me, because it will just pust the front tires, which will overrun the clutchs. The only adverse affect i think i will see is that it will take alitte more than the stock 1/5 rear wheel slippage to engage the clutchs.

I think I've broken this down to parade rest, made it easy to follow. Please if any of you guru's see an error in my fuzzy math, set me straight i dont want any broken diffs!

Thanks for ya'lls time
Jay
