I guess you missed this.
entered into a long-term exclusive engine supply agreement for ATV applications,
Even tho they are not sharing stock anymore, does not mean they are not working together. I can't see a large company like Polaris only getting a KTM engine just for 1 year. They have a long term agreement with KTM just like they have one with Fuji.

I just found that announcement regarding the exclusive engine agreement with KTM. We'll see how that agreement works out I suppose. My dealer said he got the one year 525 info. from the Polaris rep.. He also sells KTM too, and mentioned the new KTM race ready quad as well?
I know you can't see Polaris receiving the KTM engine for just one year, but I remember in the 70's everyone was placing their brand on a snowmoble just to quickly drop it and get out. The ATV market today is quite busy too like the sled market back then. And like someone mentioned on another thread - "they got out of water craft"? It's all about profit and agreements.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think they'll stop making quads, just having doubts about the 525 sticking it out, based on the above.

go to the KTM Website - Dec 22, Cross(majoritystocholder)basically purchased back 20% of Polaris's shares of KTM leaving Polaris with only less than 5% ownership. They also say the KTM board of directors will continue future projects with Polaris. KTM decided they wanted to stay an independant company but wants to continue projects with Polaris
Polaris also has company info of KTM on the Polaris Website so that also means it isnt over or they would have pulled it off.
