DO NOT GREASE THE MOTOR...take the end caps of and grease the gears on on both sides of the roller .... if you want to get fancey take the gears out and grease every thing ..very easy to do i recomend it...

why would you do that... warn support line said that would be like packing your alternator on your car full of grease..... that just dont make any sense to me .... after seing insde the armature(motor) i agree w/ warn... do what you like i did not and my winch works great.. you can go to the warn website and download the step by step directions,, or they will fax them to you

Ive done it that way 4 times now, with no trouble. But if there is a better way, i will be open minded about it. Do you have a direct link to the instructions?

you have packed the motor, armature and mangents etc w/ grease..... maybe a venom is differnt that warn.. i taked to a gentleman at warn and he refered to the packing a auto alternator w/ grease..... i dont have the link but www.warn.com.. click on atv .click on 2.5ci.then in the options there is s dissasemble and reassemble .... like i said i just disassembled and cleaned every gear and houseing re-packed w/ wheelbearing grease(warn recomended) and cleaned the motor ... mine is quite as a mouse
