The v twin`s or the motor in the 500 efi single. Just wondering im getting some mixed reviews at work and other people. I they said polaris dosent make one atv that good for long distance riding they wouldnt bet there life on going on a long distance trip. I heard the 500 efi is the most reliable efi atv made so give me some back up !

 

The 500 carb is the longest running Polaris engine for their atv line.

Yep the 500. Or even the 400. All Polaris motors are very reliable. Its the drive train you have to worry about. I know because I have had plenty.

 

Were did you find a polaris 600 ?? i keep seeing people posting they have them ive never even seen one on the website ? Is the drivetrain on the new ones having problems ?

 

Yes, 500 engine are great,eve made in Fuji (japan).

 

the 600 Sportsman was produced from 2002 to 2004 i belive.

and the twin motors ARE NOT V-twins, they are paralell twins

 

The sportsman 500 HO Carb. and the Scrambler have the same engine. Proven reliable for many, many years.

 

The 500 HO is purely a work of art. My scrambler has run damn-near full throttle since it was purchased in 2001 and still starts first time - every time, with no use of the throttle. It has never needed a valve adjustment either. Change the oil a few times a year and that motor will never die.

 

Isnt the 500 efi built off the same platform as the 500 carb ? and are the drivetrains built better in 07
