Default mad over 525 outlaw

I have been looking around on other forums and some of these suppose to be atv enthusiast cant stand the outlaw 525 or maybe its Polaris, You Know these people should be proud the a American company can compete with the jap quads I know I'm proud!! I no Polaris didn't build the motor but its still a Polaris. Some of the things people say are just childish. Where do people get this crap that Polaris is unreliable only Polaris that i had problems with is the 03 predator tranny and I have owned 10 Polaris atvs.

My buddy got his 525 about 2 weeks ago and we had a chance to ride alittle testerday and he loves his! Rides real smooth and has alot of torque! He was alittle disappointed in the drag race though, as I was able to pull him by alittle almost every time. My DS isn't stock, but isn't moded very much at all either. I know his motor isn't broke in yet and I don't know how much of a difference that will make, but he was alittle disappointed...but he still loves the bike!

I doubt if my ds will stay with the 525 outlaw but that's ok. I don't have any motor work done to mine. I will say one thing the DS is a tough machine. I think I would rather have the outlaw thoe getting old and I like smooth riding atvs. I have to ride it and see.

I think the Polaris reliability issue it overblown IMO. My Father has owned several of them, and they were not ridden easily. But they were all pretty darn reliable when in stock or slightly modded form. The only one that he had issues with was a 400cc 2-stroke that he build to the hilt, he sent the engine out to Hot Seat and they did the works..... The thing was fast as hell but it started having some electrical issues......

I'm sure Polaris spent their time making sure the Outlaw to be solid in that respect. The only issues I've heard with them so far is a couple broken sway-bars and loose sway-bar links. And I heard one guy had a problem with the seat latch.

Talk to enough people and ANY machine has it's problems, and I think in the WAY distant past (back in the 80s) the Polaris quads got a bad rap. But the new ones are nothing like the old ones.

Polaris's reliability has improved dramatically over the last half-dozen years. The reason why many Polaris critics say what they say is because of the relentless and serious reliability issues that were commonplace for so long in the Polaris line. The bumpy start of the twin cylinder 600 and 700 and the predator didn't help either. So you can complain all you want about Polaris not getting a fair shake, but in the opinion of a lot of consumers they have a lot to prove before they'll be redeemed.

As an example, my family has 3 polaris atvs. Two aren't running now and haven't been consistantly reliable for 2-3 years, and the third is only about a year old now. All 3 are bone stock with regular service intervals and proper care/maintenance.

As for the 525, it should be a great machine. But I'm not sure how you can be so mad already when the bike hasn't even been around long enough or widespread enough to even begin to decide if it's a good machine in the real world. Heck the outlaw chassis itself is still rather new and not very widespread either.

My cousin's 1980 Honda ATC 185 is still running strong and it's all original.

The problem isn't that something breaks, it's how easily and how fast it breaks.
