96 400 Sportsman

I might be able to score an old 400 cheap. Possible needs front bearings and halfshafts. Is this thing worth messing with. I am an auto tech so labor is no problem, just don't know if parts are still available. Thanks for any info.

Great machine but very high maintanance and the parts you are talking will be expensive too.
Look at the counter balance oil and if it is dry or has antifreze in it leave it alone.
If you get it be ready to drop around $1000 into it to get it up in excelant shape. Then once you realize what you have you will be dropping a ton more into it to get ALL the HP out of it.THe 400 4x4s have the capacity to run with the big boys.I miss my old 96 400 Sportsman.
