800 Sportsman

Just curious if anyone could tell me what I might have going on with my wheeler. Got done plowing tonight and ran down the steet (200') in Low range. When I hit about 6200 RPM's it started running rough, it idles fine but when I run the RPM's up right about at the 6200 mark it starts to get rough again. Does anyone know is there a ref limit on these machines or did I mess something up?
Thanks

I was pushing 5400 the other day on my 800 and i thought that was high I had no idea that the red line was over 6000 rpm.
There is a rev limeter for sure i don't want to blow any thing?

thats why it has a built in rev limiter. give an idear i found out early about limiters. one of my very good friends is a motorcycle tec. and when i bought my zx-6 years ago we talking about red lines so he walks up and twist the throttle at 14,000 rmps and it sits there and bounces off the limited i almost flipped to i found out its designed to stop it from hurting the engine.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I talked to a few local shops and they said the same thing, and no I won't be pushing it that far again but it's nice to know I didn't screw something up.

Yeah, that is one down fall with the PVT, but take afew seconds and change gears if you need to go alittle faster. I find myself having to stop sometimes in the trails to change gears. My quad is heavier than all of yours so I will stop as many times as I need throughout the trails, those belts are $85. If the fella behind me doesn't like it, he can go around, If I let him!
